About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join the team, with opportunities available across either Sales Estimating or Production Estimating, depending on your background and strengths.
Working closely with clients, sales, suppliers, trades and the internal construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are accurately estimated, priced and prepared for construction. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, commercial awareness and strong knowledge of residential construction will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and pricing for residential new builds
- Review plans, specifications and documentation
- Complete take-offs and accurately quantify materials and labor
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare detailed quotes and tenders
- Review variations, costs and project requirements
- Liaise with sales, clients, suppliers, trades and construction teams
- Identify potential cost issues and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate estimating and project documentation
- Ensure projects are accurately costed and commercially viable
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as an Estimator within residential construction
- Strong knowledge of new home building processes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction costs, materials and trades
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability
- Robust computer and estimating software skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong commercial awareness
- A background in residential new builds is highly desirable
