A1 Roadlines, a proud subsidiary of Varley Group, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Knoxfield team for a 12-month contract.
This is an opportunity to step into a broad, commercially focused role where you won't just report the numbers. You'll work closely with operational leaders, production, warehouse and sales teams to understand what's driving performance and turn financial information into meaningful business insights.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group CFO, with a dotted line to the General Manager A1 Roadlines, you'll take ownership of a diverse range of accounting activities while providing practical financial support across the business.
From month-end, cashflow and financial reporting to inventory, product costing and business partnering, this is a role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understanding how a manufacturing business operates and working with people across the organisation to drive better outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare monthly accounts through to trial balance
- Own month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Manage general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support AP, AR and weekly payroll activities
- Prepare cashflow reporting and support forecasting
- Contribute to annual budgeting and reforecasting
- Reconcile inventory and investigate stock and manufacturing variances
- Support stocktakes, inventory valuation and product costing
- Work with Bills of Materials, stock movements and manufacturing costs
- Analyse financial and operational performance and provide meaningful insights
- Partner with production, warehouse, purchasing, sales and management teams
- Support ERP improvements, data integrity and better financial processes
- Contribute to audit, compliance and continuous improvement activities
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, practical, confident and comfortable taking ownership.
Ideally, you'll have:
- 4-6+ years' accounting experience in a hands-on commercial environment
- Strong month-end, general ledger and reconciliation experience
- Experience across AP and AR
- Robust financial reporting and analytical capability
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with an ERP or integrated accounting system
- The ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Even Better If You Bring
- Manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or inventory-based industry experience
- Inventory accounting and stock reconciliation experience
- Knowledge of Bills of Materials, work orders and product costing
- Payroll experience
- ERP implementation or improvement experience
- Epicor, JIWA or another manufacturing-focused ERP
- CA, CPA or equivalent qualification, or progress towards one
