This is a combined driving and warehouse role. You will complete local deliveries to customers and construction-related businesses while also assisting with receiving, picking, packing, loading and general warehouse operations. The position is best suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes responsibility for their vehicle and deliveries, and is willing to contribute to the warehouse team when not on the road.
Key responsibilities
- Complete safe and timely deliveries throughout Sydney and surrounding areas
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects promptly
- Check loads against delivery documents before leaving the warehouse
- Secure timber and building-material loads in accordance with safety requirements
- Obtain delivery confirmation and return completed documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff and the operations team
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift and approved handling methods
- Receive incoming stock and verify quantities and condition
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately
- Maintain accurate stock locations and warehouse records
About you
- Current unrestricted Australian [HR/HC] driver licence
- Current LF forklift licence
- Demonstrated truck-driving and delivery experience
- Secure driving history and sound knowledge of load restraint
- Experience loading and unloading bulky or long-length products
- Ability to safely perform the inherent manual-handling requirements of the role
- Strong attention to delivery documents, quantities and product condition
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Clear communication and professional customer-service skills
