The Opportunity
The purpose of the Electrical and Mechanical Technician role is to provide high-quality electrical and mechanical support to our manufacturing operations, helping to maintain the reliability, safety and performance of our plant and equipment.
Working closely with manufacturing teams and a range of internal stakeholders, you will diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns, perform technical fault-finding and implement sustainable improvements that increase plant uptime and operational efficiency.
This role operates on the afternoon shift and is based in our Braeside Manufacturing Site, Victoria.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing electrical and mechanical support to manufacturing operations, addressing immediate equipment challenges while identifying sustainable improvements.
- Performing high-level diagnostic fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns, with a focus on achieving a “first-time fix”.
- Providing PLC troubleshooting support across control systems, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens equipment.
- Improving plant reliability, uptime and equipment performance through effective engineering and maintenance practices.
- Working closely with manufacturing teams and internal stakeholders to support safe, timely and productive operational outcomes.
- Responding to internal customer requirements in a timely,
practical and solutions-focused manner.
- Completing all work in accordance with the site’s Quality Management System.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant local and corporate processes, procedures and regulations, including environment, health and safety and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- An A Grade electrical qualification.
- A mechanical trade certificate or extensive hands-on mechanical experience.
- Significant maintenance experience within a Quality Management System manufacturing environment, ideally pharmaceutical, FMCG or food manufacturing.
- Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens control systems.
- Robust diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities across electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively within a diverse team.
- Clear verbal communication skills and the ability to understand written documentation, technical instructions and procedures.
- A self-motivated approach, strong work ethic and enthusiasm for improving processes, procedures and systems.
- Strong knowledge of, and commitment to, workplace environment, health and safety requirements.
- A practical, resourceful and continuous-improvement mindset.
