The opportunity
Radford College is seeking proactive, reliable and service-oriented individuals to join our Facilities Team in Term 4.
We are currently recruiting for two positions:
- Janitor – Fixed-term, full-time position covering a period of leave.
- General Facilities Officer – Permanent, part-time position working three days per week.
These roles are integral to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented campus and supporting the day-to-day operations of the College.
The Janitor will provide hands-on operational support across the campus, assisting with logistics, event setup, maintenance and facility services. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role is suited to an organised and adaptable individual with a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellent service.
The General Facilities Officer is responsible for undertaking general repairs and maintenance across College buildings and grounds. This role requires a practical and flexible all-rounder who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in maintaining high standards across a busy school environment. Experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role is highly desirable.
About the Roles
Janitor
The Janitor supports the smooth operation of the College by:
- Coordinating resources and equipment for College events and activities.
- Assisting with transport and logistics requirements.
- Delivering goods, furniture and equipment across the campus.
- Undertaking minor maintenance and repair tasks.
- Monitoring and responding to Facilities Helpdesk requests.
- Supporting the presentation, cleanliness and security of College facilities.
General Facilities Officer
The General Facilities Officer forms part of the Facilities Team and is responsible for:
- Performing general maintenance and repair work across buildings and grounds.
- Assisting with preventative maintenance programs.
- Supporting campus logistics, event setups and operational requirements.
- Maintaining the presentation and functionality of College facilities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.

hands-on work and take pride in contributing to the daily life of a thriving school community. You will be a team player with a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering a high level of service.

Candidates must:
- Demonstrate experience in responding to and satisfying customer requests
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time to meet work requests timelines
- Possess strong interpersonal, decision making and people skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work well within a team environment and take on the responsibility of ensuring all work tasks are completed
- Be able to cooperate and work well with others to meet targets.
Key Requirements:
- Current LR (Light Rigid) Driver Licence.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Working at Heights qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake physical work and manual handling activities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Experience in facilities, maintenance, logistics or a similar operational environment will be highly regarded.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
- Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Clearance, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
