Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, the new Senior Storeperson will be based at our Notting Hill head office in Victoria. You will provide leadership and support for daily warehouse operations across all functions, acting as the point of escalation, training, and mentoring while balancing your hands-on storeperson duties.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Perform general warehouse duties including receiving, checking and storing goods;
- Conduct the loading and unloading of vehicles;
- Manage key operational areas (stock control, exports, despatch, cycle counts) as directed;
- Allocate and monitor work tasks to align with time and quality standards;
- Develop the abilities of junior staff through training and mentoring;
- Identify and escalate process issues and improvement opportunities;
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) the relevant IATA Dangerous Goods certification to prepare and despatch DG shipments;
The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes:
- Current Forklift licence;
- 5+ years of warehousing or logistic experience;
- DG certification (IATA), or willingness to obtain within 6 months;
- Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or Supply Chain Operations (preferred);
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Logistics/Business (desirable);
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred);
- Background in leading and developing junior warehouse staff, and prioritising tasks;
- Well versed in stock control, despatch coordination and/or receiving operations;
- Understanding of warehouse requirements including store,
handle and ship dangerous goods;
- Ability to lift heavy goods in alignment with OH&S; requirements;
- Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn;
- Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and;
- Excellent attention to detail and leadership, interpersonal, communication, organisational, and task management skills.
