The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. In this context, the VCAA is responsible for developing high-quality curriculum and assessment products and services.

The VCAA is a registered foundational and senior secondary awarding body with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). As part of its functions, the VCAA develops policies, criteria and standards for:

- curriculum, assessments and courses for school-aged students
- learning, development and assessments which relate to early childhood

The VCAA develops strong relationships with the government, Independent and Catholic school sector, other national and interstate curriculum authorities, academics in the field, teacher/subject associations and, most importantly, with Victorian educators.

About the Division

Corporate Services Division provides enabling services to support the operation of the VCAA with communications, engagement, data and analytics, legal policy, finance, human resources, technology infrastructure and applications.

Corporate Services is focussed on delivering high quality, innovative services and operating as a strong collaborative partner to the Curriculum and Assessment Divisions to support delivery of the VCAAs vision and mission.

The Business Relationship and Engagement Unit in the IMT Branch is the front door into IMT. It works with business areas to understand and shape needs, clarify problems, capture requests, support triage and prioritisation, and help determine the right pathway for the work.

About the Role





We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join VCAA's Information Management & Technology Branch.

You will work across complex ICT projects and initiatives, partnering with business areas, technology teams and delivery partners to understand business needs and translate them into clear business requirements, functional specifications and practical technology solutions. s. This role requires proven experience and working knowledge of MySQL.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead business analysis activities across complex ICT projects and initiatives.
- Elicit, analyse, document, prioritise and validate business and functional requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, discovery activities and current and future state process analysis.
- Develop high-quality business requirements, functional specifications and supporting documentation to inform solution design and delivery.
- Work closely with project managers, solution architects, developers, testers and business representatives throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support requirements traceability, solution validation, change assessment, user acceptance testing and implementation.
- Provide specialist business analysis advice and support consistent business analysis practices across IMT.
- Contribute to embedding new ways of working across IMT, including the use of Jira for work planning, prioritisation, task management, progress tracking and collaboration.

About you

You will be an experienced business analyst who can confidently work between business and technology teams. You will bring strong requirements analysis and documentation skills, excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation capability, and the ability to work through complex and ambiguous business problems.





You will ideally have experience working on ICT projects in a complex operational environment, together with a strong understanding of business processes, technology-enabled solutions and contemporary delivery practices.
