We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Return-to-Work (RTW) Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our team members.
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will be the key point of contact for team members recovering from work-related injury or illness, while partnering closely with managers and a range of external stakeholders to achieve safe, timely and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
This is a hands-on role where you will combine strong case management and stakeholder engagement skills with sound knowledge of Victorian workers' compensation, rehabilitation and workplace health and safety requirements.
This role is permanent part-time for 25-hrs per week, across 5-days (i.e. Mon-Fri 5hrs per day).
What you'll be doing:
- Managing RTW plans from initial notification through to successful recovery and sustainable return to work.
- Liaising closely with injured team members to understand their capacity, restrictions, rehabilitation needs and barriers to returning to work.
- Developing and reviewing suitable duties and workplace adjustments in partnership with managers.
- Liaising regularly with WorkSafe Agents, treating practitioners, occupational rehabilitation providers and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring and recording claims, rehabilitation progress and key RTW milestones.
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and compliant RTW records.
- Participating in case conferences and rehabilitation reviews.
- Providing practical advice and support to managers on RTW and WHS matters.
- Identifying opportunities for early intervention and injury prevention.
- Supporting risk assessments, investigations, corrective actions and broader WHS improvement initiatives.
What you'll bring:
- WorkSafe Victoria-endorsed RTW Coordinator training accreditation.
- A qualification in OHS, occupational rehabilitation, allied health, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Victorian workers' compensation and RTW legislation and WorkSafe Victoria requirements.
- Experience working within ISO45001 management systems (with an understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001 also desirable).
- Experience developing and managing RTW plans and injury management cases.
- Strong communication, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisation, documentation, reporting and case management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills - particularly Excel, Teams and Outlook.
- The ability to exercise sound judgement, identify risks and make evidence-based recommendations.
- A high level of confidentiality, integrity and professional discretion.
- A collaborative, positive and solutions-focused approach.
What’s in it for you?
- Make a real difference: directly support team members through their recovery and return to work.
- Work with excellent people:
collaborate with a supportive Management team.
- Variety: combine case management, stakeholder engagement, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
- Hybrid flexibility: work from either our North Melbourne or Mornington depot, combined with WFH flexibility and part-time hours.
- Impact: contribute to a positive workplace culture focused on genuinely living core values and creating a great place to work.
