The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join the Nukara Family and Children’s Team.
About This Role
The Team Leader provides day-to-day leadership, supervision and practice support to the Nukara Family and Children’s Team. Working alongside Aboriginal families, children and young people, this role supports programs that strengthen families, promote safe and nurturing households, and help children and young people grow strong in Culture, identity, family, Community and Country.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and mentor Nukara Workers and Support Workers
- Provide supervision, coaching and practice guidance
- Support responses to complex client situations and risk concerns
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal community, services and stakeholders
- Support community activities and On Country programs
- Contribute to program development and continuous improvement
- Monitor quality service delivery and program outcomes
- Ensure reporting and documentation requirements are met
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience working with families, children and young people
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including staff supervision and team development
- Strong understanding of culturally safe practice and Aboriginal community-led approaches
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal community, families and services
- Strong communication, organisational and networking skills
- Ability to respond to complex situations, manage risk and advocate for Aboriginal families
- Commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal families, children and young people

Requirements
- Current Driver Licence
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
