Investment Analyst - Equities (External Mandates)

Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) is a public authority responsible for investing for the benefit of Victorians on behalf of the State of Victoria. VFMC manages over $100 billion in funds for 31 Victorian public authorities and related organisations across insurance, superannuation, health, arts, education, and service agencies. Key Responsibilities

- Monitor financial markets and contribute to assessing risk and return expectations across equity markets.
- Ability to identify pertinent investment issues and effectively communicate them within the team
- Assist in the analysis of portfolio structures and residual risk exposures relative to the targeted structure. This includes preparing portfolio exposure reports to identify risks and opportunities.
- Carry out due diligence on both existing and potential investment opportunities across both physical and derivative markets.
- Contribute to the formation of investment views and assist in their implementation across equity portfolios.
- Work with the Client Services team to assist them, as needed,



with client reporting.

The ideal candidate

- Undergraduate degree, ideally in Finance or Commerce, with a high level of academic achievement.
- CFA qualified, or currently working towards the qualification will be considered favourably.
- Experience working in financial services (i.e. funds management, investment banking/broking, superannuation).
- Ability to demonstrate a strong interest in investment markets.
- Advanced Excel skills (VBA) and competence with other MS Office products are required, along with some data visualisationAI capability.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- A proven record of achievement in past roles would be considered highly.
- A commitment to working in a ‘for purpose’ organisation is essential.
