Our client is a global leader in warehouse automation, logistics and material handling , delivering sophisticated automated systems to some of Australia's largest distribution, manufacturing and logistics operations.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician / Field Service Technician to join the Melbourne team.
You'll work across major customer sites, keeping automated systems operating safely and efficiently and becoming a key technical contact for customers when systems need to be maintained, repaired or improved.

What you'll be doing

This is a genuinely hands-on field role. You'll be responsible for keeping automated systems operating safely and efficiently across customer sites.

Your day-to-day work will include:





- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical faults on automated equipment.
- Attending breakdowns and working quickly to minimise customer downtime.
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Supporting equipment installations, upgrades and modifications.
- Working with automated conveyors, material handling systems and associated equipment.
- Diagnosing faults using electrical schematics, PLCs and control systems.
- Working with mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Completing maintenance activities through computerised maintenance systems.
- Providing a high level of customer service while representing the business on site.
- Participating in an on-call roster and overtime as required.
- Working across day and afternoon shifts depending on customer requirements.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an electrician who enjoys solving problems and isn't afraid to get hands-on.

You’ll ideally have:

- Australian A Grade Electrical Licence - restricted electrical licences will also be considered.
- Industrial electrical experience in manufacturing, automation, logistics, material handling or a similar environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with automated equipment,



conveyors or industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC SCADA will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Hydraulic experience would be advantageous.
- Experience using a CMMS or computerised maintenance system.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a field-based environment.
