Riversdale Optical has been operating for 30 years in the heart of Camberwell. The practice has built its reputation upon delivering honest and quality service across all aspects of eye care, including comprehensive eye testing, contact lenses, frame selection & most importantly lens application to maximise visual performance. The practice has on-site fitting equipment which enables an unique service to our patients and produces more efficient results getting new specs delivered to their rightful owner.
The practice has free onsite parking and is easily accessible by transport, with Camberwell station only a 10 minute walk away and multiple trams running through the Camberwell Junction.
THIS POSITION:
The core of this role is our interaction with our customers and patients; we like to ensure that every visit produces some laughter along with some great fashion advice when patients are selecting new eyewear. Additionally, by default, you’ll learn about general eye conditions and optical lens characteristics to further enable you to interact with patients when in store. For those with a technical aptitude, in office fitting of optical appliances can be taught.
You will always be supported by a fully qualified and experienced Optical Dispenser at all times, allowing you to make confident & informed decisions about your patients’ eyewear.
Other daily tasks include but are not limited to;
Answering phone calls & making appointments.
Setting up and packing away products at days end.
Store visual merchandising.
Frame selections for store stock (if interested).
Placing orders for specs and contact lenses.
General maintenance/ cleanliness of store.
DESIRED EXPIERENCE (NON-ESSENTIAL):
Previous work within a retail environment or; a role which requires frequent interactions with patients or customers.
Previous work within a fashion driven setting (frame selection for patients is a key aspect of this role).
Optical experience is a bonus (On-site job training provided regarding lens selection).
WHAT WE OFFER:
A selected rostered day off per week (Store requires Saturday work, closed Sundays).
9.30am - 5:30pm working hours on weekdays & 10.00am – 4:00pm on Saturdays.
