Belmont AlliedHealth is a Geelong-based psychology practice providing assessment andintervention for toddlers, children and their families. Services are deliveredin Geelong and through our rural clinic in Colac.

Theopportunity

We are seeking a GraduatePsychologist, Early Career Psychologist or Psychology Registrar to join thepractice approximately three days per week, initially comprising two days inGeelong and one day in Colac.

You will workunder the guidance of an experienced psychologist with strong networks acrossearly childhood medical and allied health services. You will also join apositive, motivated environment, committed to working collaboratively to achieveexcellent outcomes for vulnerable children and their families.

The role is basedin a dedicated child psychology space equipped with a one-way mirror and audiosystem for PCIT and other clinical work.

Parent–ChildInteraction Therapy (PCIT) will be a substantial component of the role. PCIT isa gold-standard, evidence-based early childhood intervention that remainsrelatively uncommon in Australia. You will complete certification under myguidance, with an anticipated two-year period of supervised practiceimplementing the program.

This is anexcellent opportunity to develop extensive skills in PCIT while gaining broaderexperience across assessment, early intervention and psychological practice. Iwould be pleased to support you to continue with the practice or pursue broadercareer opportunities after completing this period,



drawing on my extensiveprofessional networks and knowledge of the early childhood sector.

Keyresponsibilities

Your work willinclude:

- Implementing PCIT as a core componentof your caseload, with supervision and fidelity monitoring.
- Completing developmental andearly-years cognitive assessments.
- Providing broader early childhoodinterventions for children with developmental, medical and psychosocialneeds.
- Working with a small number ofadolescents and young adults presenting with common anxiety and moodconcerns, including where these occur alongside lifelong disability.
- Managing your own caseload andworking autonomously while seeking supervision appropriately.
- Working one day per week in Colacwithin a multidisciplinary environment.
- Liaising with families, schools, pediatriciansand allied health professionals.
- Maintaining clinical records andparticipating in case review and professional development.
- Contributing positively to acollaborative team culture focused on high-quality care and meaningfuloutcomes.

Supervisionand development

The positionincludes:

- Funded PCIT training andcertification delivered onsite.
- Regular supervision and mentoring.
- Experience in developmental andcognitive assessment, parent-focused treatment and early intervention.
- Exposure to rural multidisciplinarypractice.
- Potential future training inPCIT-Toddler and PCIT-CU.





Selectioncriteria

Applicants shouldhave:

- Current AHPRA registration, oreligibility to work as a registrar under an approved supervisionarrangement.
- Eligibility for a Medicare providernumber, where applicable.
- A robust interest in children,families, early intervention and PCIT.
- Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills.
- The ability to work autonomously andmanage a caseload.
- A willingness to contribute to apositive, motivated team.
- Commitment to regular supervision andprofessional development.
- Availability to work in Colac one dayper week.
- A current Working with Children Checkand National Police Check, or willingness to obtain them.

Experience indevelopmental assessment, developmental disorders, parent coaching ordisruptive behavior is desirable but not essential.

Employmentconditions

This is apermanent part-time employed position, initially approximately three days perweek. Remuneration will be in accordance with the Health Professionals andSupport Services Award 2020 (MA ), based on classification, qualificationsand experience.

The position alsoincludes:

- Administrative support with bookings,billing and documentation.
- Annual leave and personal leave inaccordance with applicable employment law.
- Superannuation in line withlegislative requirements.
- Potential to increase working days asthe caseload develops.

Location

- Geelong: Dedicated child psychologyclinic space with one-way mirror and audio system.
- Hours: Approximately three days perweek initially, with fixed or flexible days by agreement.
