Sales Manager – Founding Hire, Build & Lead a New Solar Sales Team

This is a founding leadership role that will grow in stages. Stage 1 involves selling pre-qualified, booked leads yourself, learning products, pricing and customers, and proving the sales process works at Solargenic. No cold calling, no door-knocking. Stage 2 involves working directly with the owner to design how Solargenic sells: the process, pitch, proposal templates, CRM setup and KPIs. Stage 3 involves recruiting, onboarding and coaching consultants, running the numbers and owning the department's results. By this point you are the Sales Manager in title and in practice, with a team override on top of your own commission. How fast you move through the stages depends on you, not on a calendar.

Key responsibilities

- Work pre-qualified, booked leads and learn products, pricing and customers
- Design the sales process, pitch, proposal templates, CRM setup and KPIs
- Recruit, onboard and coach sales consultants
- Run the numbers and own the department's results
- Build the team, process and culture from scratch

About you

- 3+ years in high-value sales with a track record you can show,



ideally in solar, batteries or energy
- You've mentored, trained or informally led other salespeople, even if the title never caught up
- You think in systems, not just deals: you notice what makes a sales process work and what breaks it
- Confidence without ego, and honesty in how you sell
- You run your own day and don't need chasing
- A reliable laptop, phone, headset and fast internet
- Available for some evening and occasional weekend appointments

Solargenic is a Melbourne solar, battery and electrification company run by its owner, Emil, an A-grade electrician. We're NETCC approved, and our three in-house install teams cover Melbourne and regional Victoria. We install solar, batteries, EV chargers, heat pumps and air con. We've built our name on quality installs, honest advice and doing what we say we'll do. The install side is solid. The sales side has been run by the owner until now, and we've reached the point where it needs its own leader.
