Birralee Kindergarten is a stand-alone community kindergarten affiliated with Lady Gowrie Queensland, located in Gladstone, Central Queensland.

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team commencing in 2027. You will work alongside our Early Childhood Teacher and experienced educator team to support a high-quality, play-based kindergarten program.

Our practice is grounded in strong relationships, children's agency, inclusion, family partnerships, nature play and wellbeing. We value staff who bring warmth, professionalism and a genuine enjoyment of working with children.

About the role

Birralee Kindergarten is a stand-alone community kindergarten affiliated with Lady Gowrie Queensland, located in Gladstone, Central Queensland.

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team commencing in 2027. You will work alongside our Early Childhood Teacher and experienced educator team to support a high-quality, play-based kindergarten program.

Key responsibilities

- Support the delivery of a play-based, child-responsive kindergarten program.

- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families.

- Support children's individual interests, needs, development and participation.

- Help create inclusive, engaging and responsive learning environments.

- Participate in Bush Kindy,



nature play and hands-on learning experiences.

- Work collaboratively with the Early Childhood Teacher and educator team.

- Support children's health, safety, wellbeing and emotional regulation.

- Contribute to observations, documentation, program planning and reflective practice.

- Participate in staff meetings and key kindergarten community events, including occasional events outside regular kindergarten hours.

Requirements

- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

- Current Queensland Blue Card, or eligibility to obtain one.

- Current First Aid and CPR, including asthma and anaphylaxis training.

- Required child protection and child safety training, including GECCKO.

- Understanding of play-based and relationship-based practice.

- Confidence supporting children with diverse developmental, communication, sensory, social and emotional needs.

- Commitment to inclusive and respectful practice.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Reliable, organised and willing to contribute to the wider kindergarten community.

- Willingness to participate in nature play, Bush Kindy and appropriate risk-taking.
