Location: Cambridge - fully onsite (North of Cambrideg)
Contract: Circa 9 months

Rate: £55p/h
We are looking for an experienced MCX / 5G / LTE Testing Contractor to join a high-impact engineering team working on next-generation MCX solutions. This is a hands-on testing role focused on the end-to-end manual testing of MCX user call features across advanced telecoms environments. You will work across technologies including 4G/5G, IMS, SIP and MCX , contributing to the testing and validation of solutions designed to support mission-critical communications. *No sponsorship opportunities*
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end manual testing of MCX user call features
- Develop and execute test strategies for MCX client and application solutions
- Perform functional, performance, accessibility and compatibility testing
- Test across relevant telecoms environments including LTE, IMS and SIP
- Analyse logs and troubleshoot issues across IMS, SIP, RTP, Diameter, LTE and TETRA
- Support sandbox testing and client development activities
- Contribute to testing activities supporting certification readiness
- Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to achieve project milestones
- Manage and investigate technical issues and trouble tickets
- Provide technical support to customers and partners where required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with 4G/5G
- Robust understanding of IMS
- Experience with SIP
- Experience testing MCX / Mission Critical Communications
- Hands-on experience of manual end-to-end testing
- Experience testing user call features
- Ability to analyse technical logs and troubleshoot issues across telecoms environments
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with 3GPP specifications
- Experience with Wireshark and log analysis
- Experience with Valid8 testing
- Experience with MCX client applications across Android, iOS, Linux and/or Windows
- Experience with testing tools including QXDM, IXIA, Spirent, XCAL, Jira and HPQC
- Knowledge of VNF deployments on VMware
- Experience with OTA/EMM client software delivery
- Familiarity with GCF certification standards
- Experience across RAN, Core and MCPTX environments
An engineering degree or equivalent experience in Telecommunications, Computer Science or Electronics would be beneficial.
The successful contractor will be comfortable working in a technical, hands-on testing environment and collaborating closely with engineering and delivery teams.
£70000 - £95000 per annum, Benefits: Listed in JD
