Lead a data-rich digital product from prototype to production in a hands-on 12-month Adelaide contract role

This large, complex organisation operates within the resources and heavy industry sector and is investing significantly in digital products that improve operational visibility, safety, productivity and decision-making.

Its growing digital division develops products in partnership with frontline teams, combining operational knowledge with software engineering, data science and emerging technology. Following the successful development of a rapid prototype, the organisation is now seeking an experienced Technical Lead to guide the product through its next phase and into a secure, scalable production environment.

Your new role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping Client's application platform, delivering modern frontend and backend solutions that support critical mining operations and planning workflows.

Working within a multidisciplinary product team, you'll partner with Data Engineers, Applied AI Engineers, Product Owners, and operational stakeholders to build secure, scalable, and maintainable applications that integrate data, optimisation, and AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing and maintaining React/TypeScript applications and C#/.NET services.
- Leading application design and architecture decisions aligned with enterprise standards.
- Building secure APIs and integrations that support operational planning and execution.
- Establishing best practices across testing, CI/CD,



observability, and code quality.
- Ensuring strong security, performance, accessibility, and user experience standards.
- Collaborating with AI, Data, Cloud, Security, and Platform teams to deliver product outcomes.
- Driving technical reviews, solving complex challenges, and supporting production readiness.
- Contributing to ongoing application support, enhancements, and continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

- Robust commercial experience developing applications using C#/.NET, React, and TypeScript.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale AWS-based applications and APIs.
- Strong understanding of secure software engineering principles, including authentication, authorisation, and application security.
- Experience implementing automated testing across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience taking complex, data-intensive applications from proof of concept through to production support.




- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to collaborate across product, operational, AI, cloud, security, and platform teams.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong ownership and accountability.

Highly regarded experience includes:

- Integration of machine learning, optimisation, or Generative AI services using Python and Amazon Bedrock.
- Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Infrastructure as Code and automated AWS deployment practices.
- Scheduling, dispatch, or resource allocation platforms.
- Mining, resources, industrial operations, or operational technology environments.
