About the role The Assistant Manager drives the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation. The role leads the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions that streamline processes, increase efficiency, customer satisfaction and enhance service delivery.
About you The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following qualities and skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee workload, timelines, and staff development.
- Excellent stakeholder collaboration and communication abilities to maintain effective Service Level Agreements.
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to anticipate and address complex end to end payroll issues.
- Innovative mindset to promote and implement new technologies, systems and process improvements.
- Results-driven with the ability to monitor performance, report on progress, and manage risks effectively.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Business Administration or a relevant discipline or demonstrated successful experience in stakeholder/customer engagement in a Shared Services/Payroll environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
