Position Type: Classroom Education Support | Employment Status: Permanent/Ongoing | Classification Level: ESO4
Xavier College is seeking an experienced Education Support Officer (ESO) – Curriculum (Grade 4) to join the founding team of our brand new our Riverlea Park Campus (R-6). In this specialist role, you will provide high-level classroom and inclusive education support, working collaboratively with teachers, students, families and allied health professionals to ensure students with identified learning needs can fully participate and thrive. You will also provide administrative support to the Inclusive Education Coordinator and offer guidance and support to Curriculum ESO staff, while contributing to the Catholic identity, Salesian ethos and mission of the College.
Commencing January 2027, this permanent, part-time role is worked Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm, across 41 week per year.
As ESO – Curriculum, you will:
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Inclusive Education Coordinator, including coordinating allied health services and assisting with the coordination and support of the Curriculum ESO team
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning resources, provide targeted student support and contribute to College activities involving students
- Support students with additional needs and assist with the implementation and monitoring of Personalised Plans for Learning (PPLs)
- Apply knowledge and initiative to recommend modifications to educational programs that support individual student learning needs
- Provide targeted support to students individually and in small groups, exercising initiative and judgement within established learning programs
- Identify and respond to student learning, wellbeing and behavioural challenges, implementing appropriate support strategies
- Assist teachers with student supervision during excursions, sports activities, school events and yard duty, as required
- Assist students with additional needs, including personal care, where required

- A Diploma in Education Support (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs, disabilities and diverse educational requirements
- Demonstrated administrative skills, including maintaining accurate records and coordinating support services within an educational setting
- Confidence and proficiency to support students across literacy, numeracy and other curriculum areas
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A proactive and cooperative approach, with the ability to exercise initiative, discretion and sound judgement
- Demonstrated ability to guide, support and collaborate with other education support staff to achieve positive student outcomes
- A commitment to contributing to the Catholic identity, Salesian ethos and mission of Xavier College
