Help shape the financial foundations of sport across NSW.

- Salary ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 + super & leave loading.
- Temporary Fulltime Opportunity until 31 Dec 2027
- Based at Sydney Olympic Park location – flexible work arrangements will be considered.

About the role Join the Office of Sport's Finance team and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial accounting services that support the management of significant public assets across NSW. As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register, supporting statutory reporting obligations, coordinating asset valuations, and ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Treasury requirements.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external agencies to provide expert financial advice and contribute to the continuous improvement of asset management processes.

Responsibilities

- Manage the Office of Sport's fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, revaluations, reconciliations, and stocktakes.
- Prepare asset-related financial reporting, support month-end and year-end processes, and contribute to statutory financial statements and audit requirements.
- Provide expert financial advice, interpret accounting standards and Treasury policies, and identify opportunities to improve financial and asset management practices.

About you You are a motivated financial professional with solid technical accounting knowledge and experience managing fixed assets within a complex organisation. You can analyse financial information, resolve issues, and communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders. With excellent attention to detail and planning skills,



you thrive in environments with competing deadlines and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and financial governance.

Essential Requirements

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting and eligibility for membership of a recognised Australian accounting body (CA or CPA).
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and fixed asset management.
