•Be part of a Workday transformation project
12-month fixed-term contract | Melbourne | Circa $170k package | Flexible working
An established national organisation is at the beginning of an exciting Workday journey and is looking for a hands-on Workday Systems Specialist to join the team during the implementation and help build its internal Workday capability.
This is a newly created role and a great opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in Workday HCM and hands-on configuration who wants to broaden their experience, work closely with an implementation partner and take increasing ownership of the platform as the Workday environment matures.
You don't need to be an expert across every Workday module. We're looking for someone who knows their way around Workday, can genuinely configure within the platform and is ready to take the next step in their career.
The opportunity
You'll work closely with internal People and Technology teams, alongside an experienced Workday implementation partner as the organisation continues its rollout.
As the platform develops, you'll help bring more Workday knowledge and capability in-house, supporting configuration, enhancements, testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Your role will include:
- Hands-on Workday configuration and business process changes
- Supporting Core HCM and additional Workday modules as they're implemented
- Working alongside the implementation partner to understand and validate configuration
- Taking requirements through configuration, testing and release
- Supporting functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing
- Troubleshooting system issues and investigating root causes
- Supporting Workday releases, enhancements and continuous improvement
- Working with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical Workday solutions
- Supporting reporting, integrations, data quality and system documentation as required
About you
We're more interested in the depth of your hands-on Workday experience than the number of modules listed on your CV.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Around 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience within a functional, systems or HRIS role
- Good experience across Core HCM
- Genuine hands-on experience configuring Workday, rather than solely supporting users or managing external providers
- Experience with Workday business processes, enhancements and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting testing, UAT and/or Workday releases
- Exposure to one or more additional modules such as Absence, Recruiting, Compensation, Time & Attendance or Payroll
- Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
You don't need experience across every module. If you've developed a strong foundation in Workday HCM and configuration and are looking for an opportunity to broaden your capability, we'd be keen to hear from you.
Why consider it?
You'll be joining at a particularly interesting point in the organisation's Workday journey. Rather than stepping into a mature BAU environment, you'll get exposure to the implementation, work alongside experienced Workday specialists and then help take greater ownership of the platform internally.
It's an chance to broaden your Workday experience, gain exposure to additional modules and have a genuine influence over how the platform is supported and developed.
The organisation offers flexible working arrangements and is open to both full-time and part-time candidates.
