KBSS is an award-winning business supplying specialised manufacturing and maintenance services to the Energy, Mining, and Marine Sectors, based in the Pilbara WA.
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable 1st Class Machinist (CNC) to join our Karratha Workshop Team in a residential role on a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster.
This is a hands-on role covering manual turning and milling, CNC lathe and mill operations, and fitting work, supporting KBSS's manufacturing and maintenance services to the Energy, Mining and Marine sectors.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, puts safety first and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete machining operations as per drawing specifications
- Interpret drawings and work instructions
- Create logical, efficient ways to manufacture parts
- Operate manual lathes and mills, and Okuma CNC lathes and mills
- Carry out fitting work as required
- Ensure zero harm in the workplace by following all policies, procedures and statutory requirements
- Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards, including risk assessments and workplace inspections as required
- Work closely with the workshop team,
demonstrating strong organisation and communication skills
Skills & Experience
- Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Machining) or equivalent
- Okuma CNC lathe or mill experience
- Okuma OSP-P300 experience
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safe work practices and high housekeeping standards
- Class C manual driver's licence
- White Card
- Ability to pass a comprehensive medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing
- Experience in an energy, mining, marine or heavy industrial workshop (desirable)
