The Australian Border Force (ABF) is seeking motivated and professional individuals to join our workforce as Irregular and Intermittent Employees (IIEs). These casual APS2 positions provide essential support to frontline operational teams during periods of increased passenger and cargo movements across Australia's borders.
IIEs will be primarily employed at Canberra International Airport, assisting ACT Border Clerance team during peak arrival and departure periods. The role contributes to the efficient processing of travellers and supports border operations to maintain the security and integrity of Australia's border.
As a frontline representative of the ABF, you will be required to wear the ABF uniform, maintain a professional appearance, and uphold the values and standards of the organisation while interacting with members of the public and international visitors.

The key duties of the position include:
- Assist with passenger processing activities at Canberra International Airport
- Provide administrative and operational support to frontline teams
- Deliver professional and courteous customer service to travellers and stakeholders
- Support operational requirements during peak periods, including outside standard business hours
- Work effectively within a dynamic team environment while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
