The key duties of the position include:
About the Role
Reporting to the Advisor Health, Safety and Wellbeing, the Senior Officer Health, Safety and Wellbeing delivers HR services, projects, advice and analysis for WHS, Case Management and Comcare claims management work.
In this role you will assist in delivering both operational and strategic outcomes across WHS.
This includes managing sensitive employee health matters and claims, assisting to drive continuous improvement across WHS systems, policies and processes, and providing trusted and pragmatic advice.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Undertaking case management for health cases and Comcare claims.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, Comcare requirements, and internal frameworks.
- Assisting with the management of the incident and hazard reporting systems, including maintaining accurate records and identifying trends.
- Assisting with strategic WHS initiatives and organisational action plans.
- Assisting with WHS reporting obligations,
including notifiable incidents to Comcare and organisational reporting requirements.
- Assisting WHS policy and procedure development and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering HR services, projects or programs.
- Experience in managing complex employee matters, with exposure to work health and safety, rehabilitation, workers' compensation or related functions.
- Sound knowledge of relevant employment legislation, policy and governance requirements.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, including managing competing priorities and delivering accurate work on time.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information, identify risks and recommend practical options.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement and a commitment to stakeholder service and working flexibly in a small, dynamic team
- Qualifications in human resource management, business, psychology, work health and safety or a related discipline would be an advantage (not mandatory).
