You'll be supporting a diverse operational and corporate workforce in a fast-paced environment, giving you genuine exposure to the challenges and opportunities of a growing organization.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact rather than being confined to one area of HR, this could be the opportunity for you.

About the Role

As our HR Advisor, you will be a key point of contact for employees and managers, providing practical HR support and helping ensure a positive and consistent employee experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

Employee Relations

- Act as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR enquiries and provide practical, timely advice on policies, procedures, employment conditions and workplace expectations.

- Assist with employee relations, performance and conduct matters.

- Conduct preliminary fact-finding and maintain appropriate documentation.

- Support disciplinary, counselling and performance improvement processes.

- Prepare HR correspondence, meeting records and formal documentation.

- Escalate complex or high-risk matters to the HR & IR Manager.

Recruitment & Workforce Support

- Support the recruitment team with onboarding, inductions and recruitment administration as required.

- Contribute to improving the employee experience for our workforce.

- Support workforce planning, recruitment forecasting and talent pipelines.

- Assist with candidate attraction and retention initiatives.

- Develop initiatives to increase First Nations participation.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

- Coordinate onboarding and new starter activities.

- Prepare employment contracts, variations and employee documentation.

- Coordinate probation reviews and employee check-ins.

- Conduct and track probation follow-ups.

- Coordinate exit interviews and offboarding.

- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records.

Performance & Development

- Coordinate quarterly performance review processes.

- Maintain probation and performance tracking systems.

- Support managers with performance management documentation.

- Monitor Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).

- Coordinate internal and external training programs.

- Maintain skills matrices and competency registers.

- Support leadership development initiatives.

HR Administration, Compliance & Reporting

- Maintain personnel files, HR systems and documentation.

- Support policy updates and employee communications.

- Assist with Fair Work and employment compliance requirements.

- Prepare documentation for audits and accreditation.

- Produce monthly HR reports covering headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, probation, training and employee relations.

- Maintain HR dashboards and workforce metrics.

- Analyse workforce data and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Coordinate employee pulse surveys and feedback initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident dealing with people at all levels.

You will ideally have:

- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency essential (Sponsorship is not available for this position).

- 2+ years' experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role.

- Solid knowledge of employee relations and Australian employment practices.

- Experience supporting performance management and workplace matters.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Confidence dealing with employees, managers and senior stakeholders.

- A proactive approach and willingness to get involved across all areas of HR.

- Strong Excel and HR systems capability.

- A relevant HR, business or similar qualification is desirable.

Why Join Retro Traffic?

This is an opportunity to join a growing organization where HR has a genuine seat at the table. You won't simply inherit established processes; you'll have the opportunity to help improve them.
