About the Role
ADE is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team.
This role is suited to an environmental professional with approximately 2 to 6 years of relevant experience who can independently deliver environmental investigations, contaminated land assessments, groundwater monitoring, waste classification projects and environmental compliance programmes.
You will work closely with experienced Project Managers, Senior Consultants and Principals while continuing to develop your technical expertise, consulting capability and project management skills. The role offers exposure to projects throughout Australia across a broad range of environmental disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver contaminated land investigations and environmental assessments.
- Undertake soil, groundwater, surface water and waste sampling programmes.
- Develop and refine conceptual site models.
- Interpret laboratory and field data against relevant environmental criteria and guidelines.
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments and client deliverables.
- Conduct waste classification and resource recovery assessments.
- Support environmental compliance and monitoring programmes.
- Coordinate fieldwork, drilling contractors and other subcontractors.
- Manage project budgets, schedules and project reporting on smaller projects.
- Prepare proposals, fee estimates and variation requests.
- Supervise and mentor graduate consultants and field staff.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat work.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Earth Science, Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2-6 years of relevant environmental consulting or environmental industry experience.
- Experience undertaking environmental investigations, field sampling and technical reporting.
- Sound understanding of contaminated land assessment, groundwater monitoring, waste classification, remediation or environmental compliance.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
- Willingness to undertake field work, regional travel and occasional interstate travel.
Highly Regarded Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Contaminated land assessment and remediation
- Groundwater assessment and monitoring
- Waste classification and resource recovery
- PFAS investigations
- Asbestos in soil investigations
- Acid sulfate soils
- Environmental due diligence
- Environmental compliance and auditing
- Environmental monitoring programmes
