Field Service Technician - Servicing Quarries & Civil Construction

Down 2 Earth Equipment is seeking experienced and qualified Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our growing team in Central Queensland. About the Role

This position is primarily a Field Service role, providing on-site diagnostics, servicing and repairs to our customers throughout Central Queensland. You will also spend time in our workshop assisting with repairs, rebuilds and scheduled maintenance as required.

Suited to trade-qualified Diesel Fitters with a minimum of 3–4 years post-trade experience, this hands-on role offers plenty of variety and the chance to work across a broad range of earthmoving and agricultural equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy diesel machinery and equipment.

- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance both in the field and in the workshop.

- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.

- Complete job cards and service reports accurately and efficiently.

- Maintain a high standard of safety, workmanship and attention to detail.

- Provide professional customer service while representing the Down 2 Earth Equipment brand.

- Work both independently in the field and collaboratively within the workshop team.

Equipment You'll Work On

Our field service and workshop teams service and repair a broad range of machinery, including but not limited to:

- Bobcat

- Develon (Doosan)

- McCormick

- Caterpillar





- Volvo

- Komatsu

- Other leading earthmoving and agricultural equipment brands.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter or equivalent.

- Minimum 3–4 years of post-trade experience.

- Experience in field service role - not required but preferred

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

- Experience working across multiple equipment brands (preferred).

- A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

- A current driver's license (HR license desirable but not essential).

- The ability to work independently and manage field service responsibilities effectively.

- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

- A suitable personal toolbox and trade tools to suit field service work.

- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

- Australian citizenship status is required for this position - no sponsorship opportunities.
