About the role

Ward 5 West is a busy 30-bed surgical ward caring for General Surgical, Urology, Colorectal and Gynaecology patients. Working alongside Registered Nurses and a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Support an evidence-based learning workplace and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
- Participate in performance development and planning activities.
- Assist in identifying risks and opportunities for improvement and change to promote safe work activities, report workplace incidents and participate in collaborative review of systems and processes.
- Practice collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to promote the cultural safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Demonstrates culturally safe practice through ongoing reflection,



recognising the impact of culture and colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, while promoting health equity and inclusion, practicing behaviours free of racism and respond appropriately to culturally unsafe practices.
