Company Description

DuNoMo is a B2B payments business operating across Asia Pacific as a Business Payment Solution Provider (BPSP) and Merchant of Record on Visa and Mastercard commercial card rails. We let corporate treasurers pay suppliers, statutory obligations and superannuation using a card facility they already hold, while the beneficiary is paid directly into their bank account. Our platform covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, embedded finance via APIs and a mobile app, with end-to-end reconciliation and payment automation built in, and it integrates with the ERP and accounting systems clients already run.

We partner with card schemes, commercial card-issuing banks and financial institutions to improve working capital, control and cash flow visibility for businesses ranging from SMEs to large corporates. DuNoMo is live in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia, with further APAC markets planned.

Role Description The Head of Business Development, AU & NZ is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sydney, Australia, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. Australia and New Zealand is our most developed market, with enterprise clients signed and scheme and bank relationships already in place. This role is the single commercial owner for the market, responsible for turning a strong proposition into repeatable, forecastable revenue.

It carries the total payment volume and net revenue target for AU and NZ, personally leads the largest opportunities, builds and leads the business development team, and holds pricing authority within an approved framework. This is a player-coach role. In the first two quarters you will be personally closing deals, and by the end of year one most of the number should come through the team and partner channel you have built.

The role reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

- Revenue ownership: Deliver the AU and NZ TPV and net revenue target. Own the forecast and its accuracy, and present it monthly.

- Enterprise recent business: Personally lead pursuits with ASX-listed and large private groups at CFO, Treasurer and procurement level. Build the working capital business case and run deals through to signature.
- Team leadership: Hire, onboard and lead the AU and NZ BD team. Set territory coverage, run a weekly cadence, and hold the standard for pipeline hygiene and forecast integrity.
- Partnerships and channel: Build and monetise channels with Visa, Mastercard, acquirers, major banks and payroll, ERP and accounting platforms, turning relationships into owned, referred pipeline.
- Pricing and deal structuring: Structure MDR, volume tiers, rebate share and payment terms that win without eroding contribution, within an approved framework.
- Market positioning: Own the commercial narrative as acceptance economics, treasury practice and payment regulation evolve, giving treasurers a reason to engage now.

Qualifications

- Experience: 10–15 years in B2B payments, commercial cards, transaction banking or enterprise fintech, with a documented record of carrying and exceeding an enterprise number. Experience opening a market or scaling from an early revenue base is a plus.
- Leadership: Proven management of quota-carrying sellers, including hiring, coaching, performance management and forecast discipline. Experience building a team from the first hire is a plus.
- Payments domain: Fluency in card economics, including interchange, MDR, rebates and the working capital arithmetic a treasurer will test. Understanding of BPSP and MoR structures, scheme rules and acquirer relationships is preferred.
- Market network: An active AU and NZ network at CFO, Treasurer and financial controller level. Relationships with schemes, major banks or payroll and ERP platforms, plus large-listed procurement experience, are a plus.
- Personal: Direct, organised and credible in front of a board. Builds trust quickly without overselling, and is comfortable with regional reporting lines across multiple time zones.
