Home Support Officer
- Full-time, Permanent Position (Mon – Fri)

About the opportunity
This role is central to the delivery of our person-centered approach and is the face of Uniting that goes beyond basic assistance with inquiries and office tasks. You will work collaboratively with the management team to support clients and their families to achieve their goals.
Key responsibilities may include
- Deliver exceptional front-of-house customer service to residents, families, visitors, contractors, and prospective residents with varied needs and backgrounds.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the home and provide administrative support across a wide range of functions, including enquiries, documentation, bookings, communications, purchasing, and records management.
- Build positive relationships with residents, staff, families, and community stakeholders while promoting a welcoming and inclusive workplace prompting the services of Uniting.
- Communicating well with clients with varied needs and backgrounds.
- Performing various administrative tasks such as capturing enquiries, preparation of rosters, purchasing, and client bookings.
- Engaging and building community connections, prompting the services of Uniting
- Facilitating quality,
timely and effective communication while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of each client
- Promoting the rights and privacy of our clients, following relevant policy and legislation
- Working for the continuous improvement of our service to ensure it’s the best it can be, in line with Aged Care Accreditation Standards
Qualifications / Requirements
Typically, this role requires Certificate III in Business Administration, an equivalent qualification or experience within a similar position in Aged Care as well as:
- Demonstrated experience in reception, office administration and customer service in a busy service workplace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a respectful and person-centred approach to residents, families, visitors and employees.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
- Good digital literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and the ability to learn and use CRM, invoicing, purchasing, rostering and electronic records systems.
- Ability to organise work, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on allocated actions with limited supervision.
- Previous rostering experience in aged care, community care, retail or hospitality.
- Understanding of work health and safety principles and risk-management practices.
- Ability to work onsite Monday to Friday and meet Uniting pre-employment screening and evidence requirements.
