Salary: $78,000 - $84,799 per annum (full-time equivalent), with employer’s contribution to superannuation and annualised leave loading paid in addition

About the role

You will provide comprehensive legal, clerical, and administrative support to solicitors and legal teams, including drafting court documents, preparing submissions, and conducting legal research. You will be responsible for supporting the effective management of legal matters, utilising practice and document management systems to ensure accurate information storage and timely communication.

The Paralegal position is a role for aspiring solicitors who have completed the first two years of their legal studies, with experience working in a professional services environment.

The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries professionally, and escalating issues when necessary. Your work will be crucial in maintaining organisational standards and delivering high-quality legal services to clients.

Please note: This recruitment will be used to create a talent pool to fill temporary full-time and part-time vacancies as they arise over the next 18 months at the CSO.

Essential requirements

- Completion of the second year of a Law Degree

- Demonstrates strong legal research, administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prepare court documents, case summaries and legal correspondence accurately and efficiently.

- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to build effective working relationships and provide responsive support in a client-focused environment.

- Is highly organised, adaptable and proficient in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems,



with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced legal setting.

- Maintains a high level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive legal information and interacting with clients, solicitors and other stakeholders.
