Role Description The Pipelayer role at TCM Civil is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Newcastle Area along with projects in the Upper Hunter, Central Coast and Midnorth Coast. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing and aligning pipes for water and civil infrastructure projects, preparing trenches and work areas, and assisting with excavation activities as required. The Pipelayer will operate and work around heavy equipment, follow project plans and specifications, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

This role involves manual labor, working in outdoor environments, adhering to safety procedures,



and collaborating closely with supervisors, equipment operators, and other crew members to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong manual labor skills and the physical capability to work in demanding outdoor conditions.
- Candidates should possess skills in excavation activities, including trench preparation and safe work around underground services.
- Candidates should possess pipe installation skills, including alignment, bedding, jointing, and testing of pipelines.
- Candidates should possess experience working with or around heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and compactors.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and site stakeholders.
- Experience in civil construction or water infrastructure projects is beneficial.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and commitment to secure work practices is essential.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transport to the Greater Newcastle Area site locations are advantageous.
- Relevant tickets or certifications (e.g., white card, machinery operation tickets) are highly regarded.
