Role Description This part-time remote Psychiatrist role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans. The Psychiatrist will conduct telehealth appointments, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications when appropriate, and monitor treatment response and side effects. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating care with therapists, primary care clinicians, and other specialists, maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, and participating in case discussions as needed.
The role may also include providing psychoeducation to patients and families,
offering crisis intervention support, and following established clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements. Flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to patient-centered, culturally sensitive care are essential.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions.
- Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health management, including psychopharmacology and evidence-based interventions.
- Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry and care for youth and young adults, or willingness to develop competency in this area.
- Active, unrestricted medical license and board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Experience providing telepsychiatry or comfort with remote care platforms and electronic health records.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practice.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry; additional fellowship training is an asset.
