Job Description

- 0.8 FTE (Tuesday to Friday), ongoing position

At headspace Eastern Shore, we support young people aged 12-25 and their families to navigate challenges relating to mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, and work or study. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring young people can access timely, high-quality support when they need it most.

Your role, your impact
As our Senior Access Clinician, you'll be one of the first clinical touchpoints for young people entering the service. Using your clinical expertise and sound judgement, you'll assess needs, manage risk, support safety planning and connect young people and families with the right supports at the right time.

This role suits an experienced clinician who enjoys combining intake, triage, direct clinical work and care coordination. Working with young people experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including complex and co-occurring needs, you'll help ensure no young person falls through the gaps by providing responsive, client-centred and family-inclusive care.

In this role you will:

- Lead intake, triage and assessment activities for young people accessing headspace Eastern Shore
- Conduct mental health, risk and safety assessments and provide evidence-based early intervention support
- Develop safety plans and deliver short-term interventions, including single session therapy, family support and psychoeducation




- Coordinate referrals and treatment pathways to connect young people with the most appropriate supports
- Manage a caseload requiring senior clinical expertise, including young people experiencing complex and co-occurring concerns
- Partner with families, carers and support networks to deliver family-inclusive care
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions and service improvement initiatives
- Build stakeholder relationships and strengthen referral pathways to improve service access and integrated care
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance on risk management, consent, confidentiality and mandatory reporting

About you
You’re an experienced mental health clinician who can quickly build rapport with young people and families while confidently managing assessment, triage and risk processes.

You’ll bring:

- Minimum tertiary qualification/s in Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work and registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with AASW
- Experience supporting young people experiencing mental health concerns, including complex or co-occurring presentations
- Experience conducting intake, psychosocial and risk assessments
- Experience developing safety plans and responding to clinical risk
- Strong understanding of child and youth mental health and early intervention frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities




- Confidence navigating complex service systems and referral pathways
- Current Driver's Licence
