Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of engine room equipment and utility systems. This position is ideal for a marine engineering professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to safety excellence in demanding operational environments. **Key Responsibilities** + Prepare engine room and utility systems for start-up. + Start, monitor, and optimise operational performance of engine room and utility systems. + Execute safe shutdown procedures when required. + Isolate and reinstate equipment and systems for maintenance activities. + Support the safe and efficient operation of engine room equipment and associated utility systems. **Leadership & Supervision** + Supervise maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendor technicians. + Conduct toolbox talks, work briefings, and safety meetings. + Coordinate personnel, materials, tools, and resources effectively. + Support competency development and on-the-job training of team members. + Promote a strong safety culture and positive team environment. **Emergency Response & Incident Management** + Identify and respond to developing operational or emergency situations. + Assist in maintaining control during equipment failures, leaks, fires, adverse weather conditions, and other critical events. + Escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner. + Participate in emergency drills and demonstrate competency in emergency response duties.
