About the position
Clinical Educators (CEs) perform the important function of providing professional services whilst supporting and supervising our students to develop their clinical skills and skilled competencies. CEs are experienced clinicians with a deep understanding of their field and contemporary evidence-informed professional practice.
This position has been developed in partnership with Jacana School for Autism to provide a Speech Pathology service onsite specifically for enrolled students. Additionally, the role is enhanced with an expectation to supervise Speech Pathology students, that can provide additional capacity for service provision in the school.
In this role, the focus for activities is on-site at Jacana School for Autism in Jacana, but with some time spent at La Trobe’s Bundoora campus.
The successful candidate must be eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Speech Pathology degree and clinical and professional experience recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area.
- Proven ability to provide evidence based assessment and intervention for children with communication and swallowing difficulties
- Proven ability to provide effective clinical supervision of students, including an ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs.
- Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching clinical skills in face-to-face and/or blended modes.
