The Vintage Jewellery Co. (VJC) is an online retailer specialising in vintage and pre-loved jewellery, now opening its first brick-and-mortar store in Moonee Ponds. Our new store will specialise in a bringing an elevated jewellery buying and sales experience.
Key responsibilities n

- Providing warm, knowledgeable and personalised customer service in store
n
- Negotiating purchases confidently and professionally
n
- Understanding of gold and jewellery buying, selling and loaning
n
- Building trust and rapport with clients, particularly when handling sentimental or inherited pieces
n
- Responding to online enquiries and assisting with digital sales
n
- Supporting online collection launches, new arrivals and in-store events
n
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures and general day-to-day store operations
n
About you nn
- Strong customer service and communication skills
n
- Comfortable using and appearing on social media
n
- Comfortable discussing higher-value purchases with customers
n
- Ability to build genuine relationships with new and returning clients
n
- Reliable, organised and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
n
- Comfortable using technology and learning new systems
n
- Familiarity with Shopify or similar retail/POS systems is advantageous but not essential
n
- Professional presentation
n
- Confident, warm and well-spoken, with excellent people skills and the ability to make customers feel informed and at ease
n
- An interest in vintage jewellery and a knowledge of the gold buying industry is highly regarded, with previous experience in high ticket or luxury sales being advantageous

We pride ourselves on providing a professional, welcoming and trustworthy experience for every client, and as a quickly growing business, we're looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on and get involved across different areas of the store. With many years in the jewellery and gold industry, we are looking for a full-time team member requiring Saturday availability, to become an integral part in this next stage of the business.
