Job Description
Parkview is seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand – Defects to join our Client Services team.
n
This is a hands-on role suited to a trade-qualified construction professional with solid site experience and a practical approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for investigating and coordinating the rectification of building defects across completed Sydney metro-based projects, working closely with subcontractors, consultants, clients and internal stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Investigate building defects and coordinate appropriate rectification works.
n
- Conduct onsite investigations to identify the cause of defects and develop practical solutions.
n
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades undertaking remedial works.
n
- Monitor rectification works to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
n
- Coordinate trades, materials and resources to meet agreed timeframes.
n
- Obtain and review subcontractor quotations and assist with monitoring rectification costs and cost recovery.
n
- Prepare reports, recommendations and regular updates on defect investigations and rectification works.
n
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and technical documentation.
n
- Ensure all works comply with relevant building, quality and WHS requirements.
n
- Conduct site inductions and monitor subcontractor compliance.
n
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants, clients and subcontractors to resolve defect issues.
n
- Identify recurring or systemic defects and contribute to lessons learned, training and process improvements.

About You n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- A trade qualification in Carpentry or a related building trade.
n
- A current Construction Industry White Card.
n
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or in a similar construction role.
n
- Strong knowledge of building construction methods, materials and defect rectification.
n
- Experience coordinating and supervising subcontractors and trades.
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to resolving construction issues.
n
- The ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and technical documentation.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
n
- A hands‑on approach with a strong focus on quality workmanship.
n
- A commitment to WHS and safe work practices.
