Job Description
n
As the Waste and Recycling Infrastructure Coordinator, you will play a pivotal leadership role in planning,
n delivering and maintaining the waste and recycling infrastructure that supports one of Queensland's fastest
n growing cities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategic infrastructure initiatives, oversee landfill
n operations, and contribute to the sustainable future of the City of Logan.
About the role n
n
- Lead Council's short, medium and long-term waste and recycling infrastructure planning.
n
- Manage the development, review and delivery of complex waste infrastructure projects, ensuring
n compliance with engineering, environmental and legislative requirements.
n
- Prepare and manage the Branch's 10-year capital budget and infrastructure investment priorities.
n
- Develop business cases, grant applications, reports and strategic recommendations that support
n Branch objectives.
n
- Oversee landfill operations, including plant and equipment requirements, operational planning and
n contractor performance to ensure environmental and safety compliance.
n
- Manage infrastructure construction and maintenance programs across landfill, transfer station,
n stormwater and associated waste management assets.
n
- Lead the development and implementation of the Branch Asset Management Plan.
n
- Deliver capital works programs through effective contract management, tendering and project
n delivery practices.
n
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to the landfill operations team to achieve safety,
n operational and strategic outcomes.
n
- Review and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Council's waste and recycling facility
n network.
n
About You nn
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, environmental management, project management or a
n related discipline,
or equivalent industry experience.
n
- Significant experience delivering waste and recycling capital works programs across complex, multi
n site operations.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects from planning and design through to
n construction and delivery.
n
- Solid contract management expertise, including tender development, contractor engagement,
n performance management and procurement processes.
n
- Sound knowledge of contemporary waste management operations, including landfill, transfer
n station and alternative waste treatment systems.
n
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple strategic projects, construction programs and
n maintenance activities simultaneously.
n
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
n
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining a strong focus on operational outcomes and service delivery.
n
Key Indicators for Success nn
- Possession of a current "C" Class Driver Licence.
n
- Ability to be appointed as an authorised person under relevant legislation.
n
- Successful completion of a National Police Check.
n
- Willingness to participate in after-hours duties, including an on-call roster and providing
n operational support outside normal business hours as required.
n
- Compliance with Council's vaccination requirements, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus.
n
- Ability to lead operational and professional teams, manage complex infrastructure programs and
n deliver projects on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
n
