Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Architect n

Location: Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane considered
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home
Duration: 6 months, likely to extend
Security Clearance: Existing AGSVA NV1 or higher is mandatory

About the Role n

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Architect to lead the design, governance and implementation oversight of Azure cloud infrastructure and landing zone services.

n

You will provide technical leadership across Azure networking, security, identity, IaaS/PaaS, connectivity, resilience, monitoring and cloud governance.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Lead Azure landing zone and cloud platform architecture .
n
- Design Azure networking, connectivity, DNS, routing and hybrid integration.
n
- Define Azure IaaS and PaaS architecture and deployment standards.
n
- Establish cloud governance, subscription and management group structures.
n
- Design security, identity, monitoring and logging capabilities.
n
- Support integration across Azure, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 .
n
- Define high availability, disaster recovery and resilience requirements.
n
- Lead architecture workshops, design reviews and governance activities.
n
- Produce architecture documentation and implementation guidance.
n
- Manage technical risks, dependencies and architecture decisions.
n
- Support testing, operational readiness and transition to support.
n

- Solid Microsoft Azure architecture experience.
n
- Azure Landing Zones.
n
- Azure IaaS and PaaS.
n
- Azure Networking, Virtual WAN, Firewall, Private Endpoints and DNS.
n
- Microsoft Entra ID and Azure identity/access management.
n
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and security services.
n
- Cloud governance, policies and management groups.
n
- Hybrid cloud and enterprise connectivity.
n
- Disaster recovery and business continuity.
n
- Enterprise infrastructure architecture and design governance.
n
- Strong technical leadership and stakeholder engagement.
n

Desirable nn
- Azure landing zone experience within large enterprise or government environments.
n
- Experience delivering cloud solutions in secure or highly regulated environments.
n
- Microsoft 365 and Azure integration experience.
n
- Cloud operating model and operational readiness experience.
n
- Microsoft Azure expert-level certifications.
n
