Brisbane Truss & Timber is a growing timber truss and wall frame manufacturer based in Bundamba, running the latest Pryda design software and automated production equipment. We supply builders across South East Queensland and we're building a team that can keep up with demand.

About the Role

n

As a Civil Engineer Draftsperson, you will be responsible for preparing, developing and

n

modifying technical drawings and documentation associated with civil, structural and timber

n

construction projects.

n

Working closely with engineers, estimators, builders and other members of the design team, you

n

will assist in translating architectural and engineering requirements into accurate construction

n

drawings and documentation.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Prepare detailed civil, structural and construction drawings using Pryda

n

drafting software.

n

Develop drawings and technical documentation for roof trusses, wall frames, floor

n

systems and related structural timber solutions.

n

Interpret architectural plans, engineering drawings, specifications and project

n

requirements.

n

Prepare detailed layouts, plans, elevations, sections and construction details.

n

Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project specifications.

n

Modify and update drawings in accordance with engineering and design changes.

n

Liaise with engineers, builders, estimators and project personnel to resolve drafting and design issues.

Assist with estimating and design documentation for residential and commercial construction projects.

n

Maintain accurate drawing registers, revisions and project documentation.

n

Ensure drafting work is completed accurately and within agreed project timeframes.

n

Assist the wider design team with technical documentation and project coordination as required.

Skills & Experience

n

The successful candidate will ideally have:

n

Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Drafting, Engineering

n

Drafting, Civil Construction Design or a related discipline.

n

Previous experience in a civil/structural drafting or engineering environment.

n

Strong knowledge of technical drawing principles and construction documentation.

n

Proficiency in Pryda/MiTech/CAD and relevant drafting/design software.

n

Ability to interpret architectural, engineering and construction drawings.

n

Understanding of structural and construction principles.

n

High attention to detail and accuracy.

n

Good written and verbal communication skills.

n

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small technical team.

n

Solid organisational and time-management skills.

n

Experience in the timber, building or construction industry will be highly regarded.
