Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Estimator/Drafter with Tekla experience to join our team at our Rocklea facility in Brisbane .

About the Role n

As a Production Estimator / Drafter, you will play a key role in preparing accurate estimates, material take-offs, drawings and production documentation to support the successful delivery of steel fabrication projects.

Hands-on experience using Tekla is an essential requirement for this position. You will use Tekla alongside customer drawings,



engineering documentation and project specifications to support estimating, material take-offs and production requirements.

n

You will work closely with Production, Purchasing, Sales and Project teams to ensure quotations and production documentation are technically accurate, commercially competitive and aligned with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities n

Use Tekla to review, interpret and prepare drawings, models and production-related documentation.

n
- n

Prepare accurate cost estimates from customer drawings, specifications and project documentation.

n
- n

Complete quantity take-offs and material take-offs.

n
- n

Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production.

n
- n

Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

n
- n

Obtain and evaluate supplier pricing and quotations.

n
- n

Prepare quotations and tender documentation.

n
- n

Liaise with customers to clarify project requirements where required.

n
- n

Coordinate with Production, Purchasing and Project teams to ensure accurate project handovers.

n
- n

Maintain estimating records, documentation and databases.

n
- n

Assist with estimate revisions, project variations and post-award clarifications.

n
- n

Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.

n

About You n

To be successful in this role, you will have:





n

- n

Demonstrated hands-on experience using Tekla.

n
- n

Previous experience as an Estimator within manufacturing, steel fabrication, engineering or construction.

n
- n

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

n
- n

Experience preparing quantity take-offs and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

n
- n

Robust numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

n
- n

High attention to detail and accuracy.

n
- n

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

n
- n

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

n
- n

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

n

Desirable nn
- n

Experience with estimating, ERP or project management software.

n
- n

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and steel fabrication.

n
- n

AutoCAD experience.

n
- n

Trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing or a related field.
