Part Time | Limited tenure (19th October 2026 to 18th December 2027)

Hours: 11 hours per week

Classification: Wellbeing, Level 1
n
Remuneration: $68,586 pro rata + 12% Superannuation

About The Role n
The Student Wellbeing Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality pastoral care and wellbeing support services that enhance student engagement and contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role supports students, families and staff, and plays a key part in strengthening the wellbeing culture of the school.
Key responsibilities n
n
- Assist the Principal in delivering wellbeing and pastoral care services.
n
- Support the development and implementation of wellbeing and pastoral care programs.
n
- Prepare and distribute wellbeing resources for students and families.
n
- Help create environments that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
n
- Foster cooperation, mutual respect and cultural understanding.
n
- Provide support or referrals (with Principal approval) during grief, personal challenges or emotional difficulties.
n
- Communicate student concerns, successes or parental issues to the School Counsellor/Principal.
n

Essential Requirements nn
- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
n
- National Police Criminal History Check.
n
- Certificate IV in Counselling (or equivalent).
n
- Current Tasmanian driver licence.
n
Desirable nn
- Experience in the education sector.
n
- Experience supporting children, young people and families.
n
- Awareness of issues impacting local youth.
n
- Protective Handling Practices training.
n
n
