We've got an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to help deliver a variety of events in Sydney and in regional NSW for the mining industry. You will join a small but experienced in-house team managing a number of events and functions in a supportive and creative working workplace.

The NSW Minerals Council is the industry association for mining in NSW - the state's biggest export industry and a big employer in NSW. We create and execute high-quality events for our industry, in partnership with our events production agency, including awards dinners and a major multi-day conference.

We also organise smaller events end-to-end including careers nights and industry forums.
Key responsibilities n
n
- Planning and delivering events from initial brief and budget through to onsite execution, evaluation and reconciliation
n
- Managing timelines, venues, suppliers, registrations and event operations
n
- Coordinating larger conferences and awards dinners with our external event agency
n
- Managing annual awards processes, including nominations, judging and finalist communications
n
- Coordinating sponsorships and delivery of agreed benefits
n
- Working with policy directors and the events team on programs, speakers, communications and promotions
n
- Preparing event plans and run sheets, and coordinating onsite staff and suppliers
n
- Managing multiple events and competing deadlines
n
About you nn
- At least 5 years working in events management either in an agency or in-house
n
- Experience in managing awards programs is preferred but not essential
n
- Some experience in sponsorship coordination is preferred
n
- Proficient in Canva for in-house design and developing promotional material
n
- Great attention to detail, plus excellent verbal and written skills
n
- Understand budget management and reporting
n
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
n
- Ability to work on your own and in a team across multiple events
n
- Highly organised and a good communicator
n
