Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components in accordance with industry standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities n

- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, structural blueprints, and civil bar bending schedules (BBS).
n
- Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel, reinforcing elements, and framework components.
n
- Perform welding and structural tack-welding using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and MMAW (Arc) techniques.
n
- Manually set up, calibrate, and mechanically configure a wide range of industrial metal-forming, shearing, and processing machinery across the production floor.
n
- Cut, shape, and join metal sections using industrial guillotines, workshop shears, and related mechanical tools.
n
- Conduct repairs, routine preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of various workshop fabrication assets.
n
- Ensure all trade work is completed to high safety, quality, and Australian building code standards.

- Inspect completed work using precision measuring tools to ensure total compliance with engineering specifications.
n

Skills and Experience Required n

n
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent).
n
- At least 2-3 years of relevant trade experience as a Fabricator, Boilermaker, or Structural Welder.
n
- Proven proficiency in MIG, TIG, and manual Arc welding techniques.
n
- Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication, structural steel processing, rebar fabrication, and mechanical machinery setups across diverse workshop equipment.
n
- Demonstrated ability to read, calculate trade tolerances from, and interpret technical drawings.
n
- Strong attention to detail, precision measurement capabilities, and a strict commitment to safety.
n
- Ability to work with substantial autonomy as a qualified professional and as part of a team.
n
- Reliable, punctual, and with a solid professional work ethic.
n

About the Role n

You will be working on a variety of structural steel and reinforcement projects for commercial construction such as high-rise buildings, hospitals, and data centres.
