Job Description
Senior Electrical Designer 12-Month Contract | Site-Based - Residential Role | Industrial Processing Operations
n An established engineering and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to support a major operating industrial facility. This is a site-based contract role offering the opportunity to work across sustaining capital projects, shutdowns, brownfield upgrades and improvement initiatives.
n You will play a hands‑on role in the delivery of electrical and instrumentation design packages, working closely with engineering, operations and project teams from concept development through to construction and commissioning.
n Key responsibilities
n

- Produce high-quality electrical and instrumentation design deliverables across a portfolio of projects.
n
- Develop practical, fit‑for‑purpose design solutions that consider safety, operability, maintainability and constructability.
n
- Prepare and review design documentation including drawings, layouts and technical deliverables.
n
- Support project execution from concept design through to commissioning and as‑built documentation.
n
- Participate in project reviews, design workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
n
- Identify technical issues and contribute to the development of effective engineering solutions.
n
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process, structural and control systems disciplines.
n
- Ensure compliance with applicable Australian standards, project requirements and internal design procedures.
n
- Support project planning activities including estimates, schedules, forecasts and reporting where required.
n
- Maintain design quality through checking, review and change management processes.
n

About you nn
- Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent design qualification.
n
- Electrical trade background highly regarded.
n
- Electrical licence advantageous.
n
- Demonstrated experience in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I;) design within industrial, mining, resources, manufacturing or heavy process environments.
n
- Strong understanding of project delivery from study and design phases through to construction and commissioning.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
n
