About the Role n
Join a well-regarded Environment and Planning team within a premium commercial law firm in Sydney. Working closely with senior practitioners, you will advise on a broad mix of planning, workplace, development and project-related matters across sectors such as property, infrastructure, energy, resources, transport, healthcare, residential and commercial development.
n
The role will suit a lawyer who enjoys both advisory and disputes work, with exposure to approvals, regulatory issues, environmental compliance, planning agreements, compulsory acquisition, contaminated land, heritage, biodiversity and planning-related litigation. You will have the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, work directly with clients, and continue building your profile within a collaborative national team.

Duties nn
- Advise on planning, environmental and regulatory approval pathways
n
- Support major development, infrastructure, energy, resources and transport matters
n
- Assist with planning and environment litigation, including court proceedings
n
- Advise on contaminated land,
environmental licensing, biodiversity and heritage issues
n
- Assist with compulsory acquisition, compliance and project delivery matters
n
- Negotiate planning agreements and liaise with government stakeholders
n
- Support transactional, advisory and contentious E&P; work
n
- Contribute to client relationships, internal initiatives and business development
n
Skills & Experience nn
- Experience in an Environment & Planning practice, ideally from a top tier, international, national or respected boutique firm
n
- Exposure to planning and environment litigation
n
- Strong drafting, advisory and matter management skills
n
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners, clients and broader project teams
n
- Commercial mindset and interest in major projects, development, infrastructure, energy or renewables
n
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to continue developing as an E&P; lawyer
n
