About the Role n

The Undermanager is responsible for monitoring statutory compliance with current mining legislation and the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).

Key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Demonstrate personal compliance to all elements of the Mine Operating System (MOS) including disciplined planning, delivery, accountability and urgency.
n
- Establish and maintain statutory compliance to relevant legislation and the Sojitz SHMS across the mine.
n




- Supporting the Underground Mine Manager to Control and manage mining activities being undertaken at the mine on the appointed shift.
n
- Ensure the smooth operation of shifts ensuring statutory compliance within relevant legislation.
n
- Monitoring daily and weekly mining plans and ensuring plans are executed to the highest possible standard.
n
- Lead, coach and mentor ERZ Controllers / Deputies and other coal mine workers.
n

You will need:

n

n
- Current QLD 1st or 2nd Class Certificate of Competency (Undermanager), or NSW mutual recognition qualification; and
n
- Demonstratable experience in underground coal mining.
n
- Strong management and leadership capability.
n
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
n
