Your Role n
This is an exciting newly created role where you will play a key part in strengthening community connections and shaping place-based, person-led practice. You will work closely with local teams, community leaders and partner organisations to build trust, amplify community voices and support community-led solutions. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence systems change while staying grounded in real community impact. Your Responsibility n

- n
Coordinate, deliver, and facilitate community outreach programs and activities that foster social inclusion and build individual and community capacity.
n
- n
Work closely with internal teams—including homelessness, housing, and health services—to create safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments.
n
- n
Strengthen local partnerships and collaborate with stakeholders to extend support networks and increase engagement.
n
- n
Assess individual needs during outreach and provide appropriate information, resources, and referrals.
n
- n
Implement strategies that promote participation and inclusivity among People We Assist (PWA).
n
- n
Set up, pack down, and manage logistics for pop-up community outreach activities.
n
- n
Maintain explicit records, feedback mechanisms, and data to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
n
- n
Uphold workplace health and safety practices to ensure safe environments for all participants, members, volunteers, and staff.
n
You Will Need nn
- n
Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in community development, social work, or community services.
n
- n
Practical experience delivering programs, events, or educational activities in community settings.
n
- n
Confidence working with individuals experiencing homelessness, trauma, mental health challenges, substance use, or long-term unemployment.
n
- n
A strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, with sound de-escalation skills.
n
- n
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
n
- n
Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with capacity to manage competing priorities.
n
- n
Computer literacy and the ability to manage reporting and digital tools effectively.
n
- n
Physical ability to assist with outreach activity setup (e.g. tables, chairs, supplies).
n
- n
Current NSW Driver Licence and valid Working with Children Check.
