We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Service Engineer - Longwall to join our Mackay-based team. This is not your standard Mechanical Fitter position .

We're looking for a true Longwall specialist with extensive, hands-on experience working directly with longwall equipment and systems. Whether you've spent your career on a longwall crew underground, supporting longwall operations for an OEM, or leading major overhaul and rebuild projects, your expertise will be highly valued in this senior technical role.

Based in our Paget workshop , you'll use your practical longwall knowledge to support equipment rebuilds, technical investigations, reliability improvements and customer outcomes across Australia's underground coal mining industry.

As a Service Engineer with NEPEAN Longwall, you will act as the technical expert within the business, providing specialist knowledge and support across a range of longwall equipment and components.

n

You will work closely with customers, engineering teams and workshop personnel to deliver practical solutions that improve equipment performance, reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Conduct inspections, assessments and failure investigations of longwall equipment.
n
- Lead overhaul, repair and rebuild activities.
n
- Provide specialist technical advice and troubleshooting support.
n
- Analyse equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
n




- Support engineering teams with product development and reliability initiatives.
n
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations.
n
- Mentor and support workshop personnel through the sharing of technical expertise.
n
- Assist customers with maintenance strategies and equipment performance solutions.
n
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and to the highest quality standards.
n

About You Essential n

n
- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter or equivalent).
n
- Minimum 5 years' direct experience working on longwall equipment.
n
- Extensive practical knowledge of underground longwall mining operations.
n
- Strong understanding of: n n
- AFCs (Armoured Face Conveyors)
n
- Beam Stage Loaders (BSL)
n
- Crushers
n
- Powered Roof Supports (Shields)
n
- Shearers
n
- Hydraulic systems
n
- Gearboxes and drive systems
n

n
- Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
n
- Solid communication and technical reporting skills.
n

Highly Regarded n

n
- Underground coal mining experience.
n
- OEM longwall equipment experience.
n
- Longwall relocations and commissioning experience.
n
- Reliability engineering and root cause analysis experience.
n
- Previous supervisory or technical leadership experience.
n
- Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical.
n
